T-Pain Disses Jay-Z in Vegas (Exclusive Video)

T-Pain responds to Jay-z's "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)" Track.

First, it was just rumors Twitted by Fabolous, but now it's confirmed! In the video, T-Pain says, “Jay-Z is 59 years old. I don’t think he has the right to saywhat’s good and what’s not. I think if anything is dead, it should behim right now- that’s just me.” This morning on Hot 97, Jay-Z told Cipha Sounds & Peter Rosenberg “I hope he had a great time.”

My Opinion:

As a DJ, people hated on CDJ’s, but now it’s the standard inevery major nightclub over the turn-table. Auto-Tune is the same in the sense that it is aneffective vocal instrument. If you know how to use it, why not run with it? As a Music Producer, I will continue to use it to my advantage. People don’tunderstand that it’s not ONLY the "robot effect" that makes Auto-Tunevaluable, it's the words you sing & and the way you sing it (whichAuto-Tune does not do for you). Melodies aren’t easy to compose and hooks aren’teasy to write. So there is a lot of effort behind an Auto-Tuned Track. But atthe same time, I won’t go dissin’ Jay. He's a beast. If anything, I would havetold him “it's just music, it's my life, it's what I do. I don't hate or discriminateon new fashion, new idea’s, or new concepts, so why discriminate on new musicinstruments, a new style of music, or in this case, a new standard for vocal production (and for the record, Auto-Tune isn't even new. It has been around for years, T-Pain just made it famous). Overall, I would have told Jay "be open minded" and told T-Pain to "grow up."
