7 Hurt In Illinois Car Crash

Keep Them In You Thoughts.
CHICAGOBREAKINGNEWS -- Seven people were injured near the Plainfield-Bolingbrook border this afternoon in a four-vehicle crash that occurred after a driver suffered a medical condition, authorities said.
Around 2 p.m., a Lincoln Navigator was southbound on Naperville-Plainfield Road near 111th Street when a female driver apparently suffered a diabetic episode and struck a vehicle in front of her, said Will County Sheriff's Police spokesman Pat Barry. That vehicle went off the road, Barry said.
The Navigator continued southbound and hit another vehicle before striking a semi-truck, which caused a tire on the truck to blow, Barry said. The semi-truck went off the roadway and struck a Commonwealth Edison pole, which did not come down. The Navigator eventually stopped near 119th Street, according to Barry.
None of the injuries are life-threatening, and the seven victims were taken to several Will County-area hospitals, said Plainfield Fire Chief John Eichelberger.
Power to the area had been knocked out, Eichelberger said.
A stretch of Plainfield-Naperville Road between 111th and 119th streets was closed off to traffic and later reopened, Barry said.
No citations had been issued, Barry said.
The Will County Sheriff's Patrol Division is handling the investigation.
