Til Death Do Us Part
by Victor Alvia

On the year of the moon, I got married.
She was an innocent girl, strong and ready.
The timing was flawless, nothing regretting,
We had the best vows, the perfect wedding.
Alone,
we explored each others bodies, our hands took flight,
they traveled to every cornerstone, landed on every site,
we kissed at every capital, and pushed deep into the night.
On the first year of marriage, I died.
She became depressed, alone, unable to fight.
She lost hope, control, and was unable to hold her own.
3 Years Ago, she remarried.
She has a new guy.
Honey,
What happens when you die?
Is it him you see or I?
What happens to our love, our "death do us part"?
Who comes out clean at the end of this mess?
If it's him you choose, then with whom am I left?
If you bare his child, he will not have my face.
I went from being first, to now, second place.
My God, was I warned of whom I should choose?
Should I have picked a church girl and not someone like her?
So many questions, he will not explain,
til that time comes, in heaven I wait.
